Take this critical first step in hurricane preparedness: Go to the Alert Manatee website to find out how to sign up for local government and public notifications, including:

- Weather alerts from the National Weather Service
- Air quality alerts
- Boil water advisories
- Evacuation shelter openings
- Hazardous material incidents
- Sewage spill notices
- Water outages
You can also text “ManateeReady” to 888-777 to anonymously sign up.
You will only receive general emergency notifications. You won’t receive boil water notices or other location-based alerts.
